Palakkad Fort Palakkad Fort, known as Tipu's Fort is situated within the heart of Palakkad city of Kerala state, Southern India . It was engineered by Haider Ali in 1766 AD and remains one amongst the simplest preserved forts in Kerala. The native ruler, Palakkad Achchan, was originally a tributary of the Zamorin, however had become free before the start of the eighteenth century.
