A True reflection of "Unity in Diversity" - Baba Budan Hills,Chikmagalur

Baba Budan Hills, Chikmagaluru

Chikamagaluru is known as the "Coffee Land" of Karnataka. If you are a Kannadiga {Kannada Speaking people}, you maybe well aware of how the name Chikamagaluru was derived. Now for the rest of my readers, Chikamagaluru  in Kannada means "Younger daughter's town". It is said to have been given as a dowry to the youngest daughter of Rukmangada, the legendary chief of Sakrepatna {in Chikmagaluru district}.This place remains cool even during the summer season making it more alluring to the tourists.

The Baba-Budan range has taken its name from the 1895 meters high Baba-Budan Giri, situated just 28 kms north of Chikmagalur town. If you love to visit new places of worship, then "Sri Guru Dattatreya Bababudanswamy's Dargaa" is a MUST VISIT destination. Baba Budangiri is known for its shrine to the Sufi saint Baba Budan, a pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Muslims. This shrine is open to people of all religions showing an example of how valuesof human beings{like love, care, concern} are given more importance rather than religious preachings, violence and bloodshed. This shrine can be accessed via road which leads to a cave. The shrine is inside the cave and the view in the photograph can be seen if we go ahead on the road which leads to the top of the hills.

When I had travelled with my family, a delicious aroma welcomed us to the darga. Tourists were cooking a huge pot of Biriyani outside the darga. This spectacle reminded me once again about the beautiful customs and traditions we follow as we stand united, may it be any caste, creed, colour, race or even to a foreigner.

Eventhough some of you might have had some bitter experiences from Indians {by "you" i meant the non-indians}, kindly keep in mind that all the Indians are not similar. Some are kind and helpful while some others still need more values imparted to them. After visiting this darga, I feel proud to be an Indian. Typing out this article reminded me of the post regarding wagah border {which i have posted recently} where the similarity can be seen in showcasing our culture proudly.

Being respectful - Part 2

Things began changing for both Jon and James. As you could imagine, Jon hated James since childhood and used to snatch various opportunities James used to get. However, Jon's company began to feel the pressure as they found out that various employees began to quit the job due to the rigorous management of the company.  Jon wanted the employees to work overtime and had plans to extend the working hours for the day. He had also made it clear that there won't be any hike in salary or extra pay for overtime. This infuriated the workforce and people began quitting the job.  Jon continued barking down the orders on his workforce and demanded respect for each of his actions. People around him were fed up with his demands. One of the workers walked into Jon's office and told him how rude, arrogant and entitled he sounded. The company was on the verge of going bankrupt and Jon was pondering on how things went downhill as he still believed that he had managed the company to perfectio...
