Thillai Natraja Temple, Chidambaram

Chidambaram and Pichavaram Mangrove Forest

Thillai Nataraja Temple is one of the architecture marvels situated in Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu. Each pillar you see here has a different story to say.... Such detailed inscriptions! The temple is still maintained and looks neat and clean. Even though the heat wave has started in Tamil Nadu (we visited this place on March 11{me and my friend, Aswathy}) if you are inside this temple, you feel cool and relaxed. We visited the temple a day before Shiv-Ratri. So poojas were being conducted by the local people as well as the foreigners! PONDICHERRY – GIVE TIME A BREAK!!!

As the tagline goes, If you want a break from the stressful lifestyle and responsibilities, Pondicherry is the right place for you! Pondicherry, Puducherry, Pondy… call this Union Territory any of these names you like! This cute city takes us back to the history textbooks to a time where the French had invaded India for spice trade. They have left the French cuisine, architecture and culture back here in pondy. The white town in Pondy reflects all these. The Promenade beach in Pondy gives us a wonderful feeling. The mild breeze in the evenings, view of fishing boats speeding far away in the sea, having mild snacks (Flavoured Popcorns, Shavarma, Ice-cream are some of these) and walking through the stone – paved footpath which is clean (Trust me, this beach gives me a feeling as if we have moved out of India Its that clean and well – maintained*) is indeed an experience which all of you will enjoy.. A view from the Promenade Beach  For me, I would prefer going here
