Mahabalipuram Trip - Part 1

I was all excited and set to go.. The alarm in my phone went off and I got up as if I have drank Red bull in an entire gulp.. I was filled with energy.. I found myself grinning at me as I brushed my teeth.. All dressed up, I took my backpack with essentials (for traveling) and started walking towards the busstand. All this while, in my mind, it was inscribed with thick letters, "MAHABALIPURAM"!

I got into a bus where I found a window seat. The bus was heading to Chennai via ECR Road from Pondy. I had to get down on the ECR Road in Mahabalipuram.

Keeping all these in my mind, I started enjoying the beauty of ECR Road.. I have read from multiple sources that if you love to take road trips, ECR Road is a must travel route.

I saw how people extracted salt from the sea.  Heaps of salt can be found on the roadside and people working on these 'salt fields' if it is called so.

A view of the ECR Road
I reached Mahabalipuram and got down on the highway. I took an auto and travelled to the Shore Temple. I also visited Pancha Rathas, Cave Temples and India Seashell Museum and Aquarium..

To be continued...
