Mahabalipuram Trip - Part 2

The Shore Temple, as the name suggests, is located on the banks of Mahabalipuram beach. The site is stunning which will instantly take your breath away if u are fond of history and architecture..

A Full view of the Shore Temple
The place is well maintained. I took the entry pass and started walking towards the marvellous creation. Lots of people were clicking selfies and photographs. There was a queue and I waited for my turn to enter the temple. As I was waiting, I closely observed the temple. Each and every inch of the stone was carved which had lots of meaning.

I am no history expert to narrate the inscriptions and carvings. There is an inner wall of carvings inside the temple where on one side a 'shivalinga' is found. On the wall behind the 'shivalinga', a carving of God Shiva and Goddess Parvati is clearly seen. On the other side of the temple, we can see God Vishnu in his 'Ananthashayana' The idol is purely carved out of stone.

I came out of the temple and clicked photographs, even selfies. Just at the entrance, we can buy accessories like hat, sunglasses, earring, chains etc. The place also have small shops where you can find snacks and cool drinks..

To be continued...
