Travelling - Looking upon the World through a different angle!

Travelling can have both positive and negative impact on people. Some claim that travelling do inspire you and all the creative juices start flowing instantly! I do agree with the part where people say that the more we explore the world, the more we learn about different people, their culture and the lifestyle.

We should be thankful that we have almost all good infrastructure and facilities to survive a luxurious and smooth life. People still live in streets, begging for food or money just to survive their cursed lives. It's not their fault. We may think, if we are poor by birth, unable to get educated, struggling to make both ends meet, then what is the use of life?

Travelling can bring out the humanity factor in you. We can understand how people live and how happy they are to receive/welcome guests and to offer whatever little they have even if the family will have to starve for the day. I would like to share my personal experience here.

As a part of my education, we had to go to a remote village in an interior part of a south-indian state. We were told that people don't even have the basic sanitation facilities by our teachers. The thought which ran through my mind was, "O God! We cannot use our phones or gadgets, not can we have proper food and basic sanitation facilities. How will I survive there for a week..Sounds scary!"

It took me only few days for this perspective was proven completely wrong. We were supposed to stay with the family in the village. I must admit that people there are much more cultured in terms of polite behaviour and love. We should learn it from them.

There are no ego-clashes at all! People just move around from one house to the other, eat from neighbour's house and even help them generously when in need. This made me realise a fact. Education can't completely transform you or can impart culture in you. It is the love, care, affection and helping mentality that matters!

People (including me) sit in a cozy environment, work, take leaves, party till late night, earn money and still complain that whatever we get is not enough. We are becoming greedier day by day. The more we get the more we need mentality. Meanwhile in village, people work hard under extreme situations, (under the sun, in the rain)regardless of sickness, just to earn their daily bread and be happy.

Just realise that we have time to change. Be good to others, help out the ones in need, and make yourself feel that you deserve what you earn!

Travel, explore and understand how people live and be one of them. Our lives should be like a sponge. Absorb the goodness we see in the society and implement it in our lives.

Happy Backpacking!

Being respectful - Part 2

Things began changing for both Jon and James. As you could imagine, Jon hated James since childhood and used to snatch various opportunities James used to get. However, Jon's company began to feel the pressure as they found out that various employees began to quit the job due to the rigorous management of the company.  Jon wanted the employees to work overtime and had plans to extend the working hours for the day. He had also made it clear that there won't be any hike in salary or extra pay for overtime. This infuriated the workforce and people began quitting the job.  Jon continued barking down the orders on his workforce and demanded respect for each of his actions. People around him were fed up with his demands. One of the workers walked into Jon's office and told him how rude, arrogant and entitled he sounded. The company was on the verge of going bankrupt and Jon was pondering on how things went downhill as he still believed that he had managed the company to perfectio...
