Indian Movies and the Element of Travel (Part 2, State- wise Publicity for Tourism)

Hi Guys,

Today I would like to discuss with you about the State - wise publicity given to different tourist destinations in India.  When movies are shot, the locations are selected to match with the movie. For eg:- If the scene of the movie is a family picnic, the location should also reveal the details that the family has come down for a picnic or so.

One of the famous and favourite spot for the movie directors which I would like to discuss today is the Athirappally Waterfalls located in Thrissur district of Kerala. Maniratnam movie, "Raavan", Rajamouli's latest flicks, "Bahubali" and "Bahubali 2" are some of the famous movies shot in this specific location.

Athirappally Waterfalls of Kerala
Vazhachal Falls is yet another small water falls located near to Athirappally waterfalls. Athirappally waterfalls poses a threat to the tourists as it is quite deep and slippery. So the tourists are advised to be cautious near to the falls. Localites advise not to take bath and go deeper into the water area as it is dangerous and many lives have been lost in recent past.

Tourists can easily access Athirappally - Vazhachal Waterfalls, It is just 33.5 Kms away from the airport

As per Google Maps:-

These falls were only known to the Keralites and local public until movies were shot here which attracted the tourists. The income from tourism has helped Kerala Government in maintaining the Waterfalls and premises. Resorts and other home stays are available near the falls.

Stay Tuned for my next article. Thanks for Reading! :)
