Being respectful - Part 2

Things began changing for both Jon and James. As you could imagine, Jon hated James since childhood and used to snatch various opportunities James used to get. However, Jon's company began to feel the pressure as they found out that various employees began to quit the job due to the rigorous management of the company.  Jon wanted the employees to work overtime and had plans to extend the working hours for the day. He had also made it clear that there won't be any hike in salary or extra pay for overtime. This infuriated the workforce and people began quitting the job.  Jon continued barking down the orders on his workforce and demanded respect for each of his actions. People around him were fed up with his demands. One of the workers walked into Jon's office and told him how rude, arrogant and entitled he sounded. The company was on the verge of going bankrupt and Jon was pondering on how things went downhill as he still believed that he had managed the company to perfectio

Being respectful - Part 1

Respecting others is a good quality we should possess and if we look into our society, we could see various people who earn respect through their activities and many others who demand respect even if they are ignorant and egoistic. Jon and James were siblings and grew up with equal opportunities provided to them. While Jon used to believe that he is better than everyone around him, James used to believe in working hard and making a difference in the society. James worked hard and got into a prestigious university while Jon decided to manage his father's company as he was not well-qualified and failed to complete his university education.  Jon thought of himself as the embodiment of perfection. He assumed that he would be respected and feared by everyone as he would be handling the company forward. Jon began demanding respect from people around him so that it satisfied his ego.  James, on the other hand, carried out social work and worked as a software engineer for a conglomerate. J

Vagamon - Nature's Own Nest of Peace and Serenity Part 2

"Can I have a look at the brochures regarding the places to visit here?" A cute little boy asked the hotel in-charge who was serving food in the dining area. "Have your food Aaron. It will turn cold. you can check the brochures later", his mom told him in a British accent. "The arrival of foreign tourists are less here compared to other parts of Kerala but people do come here by word of mouth. We just make sure that they are properly taken care of and leave the place happily with a load of memories..." We over heard the conversation of the manager who was speaking to the guests where seated nearby. The manager approached my uncle, "Sir, the jeep for your Forest Trip is ready, It's waiting near the reception." My uncle thanked him with full pride and dignity. It reminded me of the attitude of the father lion in "The Lion King"who takes care of the entire animal kingdom! "Hop in!" I screamed to my cousins and family m

Vagamon - Nature's Own Nest of Peace and Serenity Part 1

One fine morning, when I was at my cousin's place, we were discussing about his future plans in education. Some how, we deviated from the topic and started speaking about International schools located in Hill Stations. I seized the opportunity to speak to him as he always keeps himself occupied with books, games or television. He reminded me of seeing a school in Munnar (hill station in Kerala) once when we were on a family tour. This journey back to the memories made us realise how time flew past and we grew up and apart making our lives busy with career and education. He said, "Hey,Why don't we find out some time and go on a family trip like how we used to go when we were kids?" "Great idea bro. Let's do it!" was my instant reaction. After a huge struggle to convince our family members, we started listing out the places which we have not yet visited. "Rajasthan, North East, Orissa... What do you think would be best for a family trip?", I

Indian Movies and the Element of Travel (Part 2, State- wise Publicity for Tourism)

Hi Guys,  Today I would like to discuss with you about the State - wise publicity given to different tourist destinations in India.  When movies are shot, the locations are selected to match with the movie. For eg:- If the scene of the movie is a family picnic, the location should also reveal the details that the family has come down for a picnic or so.  One of the famous and favourite spot for the movie directors which I would like to discuss today is the Athirappally Waterfalls located in Thrissur district of Kerala. Maniratnam movie, "Raavan", Rajamouli's latest flicks, "Bahubali" and "Bahubali 2" are some of the famous movies shot in this specific location. Athirappally Waterfalls of Kerala Vazhachal Falls is yet another small water falls located near to Athirappally waterfalls. Athirappally waterfalls poses a threat to the tourists as it is quite deep and slippery. So the tourists are advised to be cautious near to the falls. Localites

Indian Movies and the Element of Travel (Part 1, State - Wise Publicity for Tourism)

Hi Guys, I was just pondering upon what to write for this week. I thought of a very interesting topic. How Indian Movies portray the different countries. Movies, especially Indian movies, despite the regional differences are shot abroad for many reasons. One of the reasons may be to promote the tourism of the particular country, of course, as a result of the tie-up with the tourism industry. Many Indian movies has also promoted different States in India too. Some of the movies are shot in different states because of the infrastructure and the facilities available. The best example for this type of shooting the movies is in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. The name itself says it all! The film city provides different equipments for shooting on a rent basis. It is a good entertainment for common people which helps them in learning more about movies and the effort of different people in making a movie. "Beauty of a city is reflected in how well you maintain the place" The

How Travelling Influence Young Minds - Power of Travelling (Part 2)

A family was out for a road trip on their car. They were stuck in a traffic jam. It is usual these days as construction and maintenance work is going on. Even the narrow roads and excess amount of vehicles add to the traffic. The father was indulged in thoughts like how crowded the city is in the recent times due to job opportunities and Indians from different parts of the country seek job in this two-tier city. He was too much into his thoughts. His Son, sitting behind him muttered, "Papa, Why is the car not moving?" The chain of thoughts was broken. Traffic Jam in India "Don't  worry Son, just wait for two minutes till the signal. We will leave soon." The boy started complaining about how irritating this traffic is and they are unable to enjoy the scenery as the vehicles are closely parked. On the corner of the road, he saw a small boy begging for money in a bowl. He was dressed in rags and was definitely a young boy. He looked unclean and his hair w
